Colourful and multi-talented David Lindley is coming back to the Coast to entertain once again.

On Thursday, July 9, Lindley lights up the Rockwood Pavilion in Sechelt with his musical virtuosity and his flashy wardrobe.

If you've never experienced Lindley, this is your chance to hear authentic world beat from the man who quite possibly invented it. His performances combine American folk, blues and bluegrass traditions with elements from African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy and Turkish musical sources. Multi-instrumentalist Lindley performs on an eclectic array of stringed instruments including Hawaiian lap steel guitar, Turkish saz and chumbus, Middle Eastern oud and Irish bouzouki.

This is guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining concerts of the summer. Besides Lindley's musical prowess, his uncanny vocal mimicry and wicked sense of humour combine to make his onstage banter a highlight of the show.

Lindley is presented by the Live Music Society. Get your $20 tickets at WindSong Gallery in Sechelt, Gaia's Fair Trade Gifts in Gibsons, and the Roberts Creek Health Food Store. Doors open at 7, show starts at 8 p.m. Don't forget that the Rockwood Pavilion is open to the night air; bring a sweater or a blanket.
