Simon Paradis, Joe Stanton and Gerry Millar take the stage this Saturday night, March 16, at Cooper's Green Hall in Halfmoon Bay as part of the Cooper's Green Concert series, presented by the Welcome Beach Community Association.
The trio are long-time Sunshine Coast musicians, and will be playing tunes from the Precious Littles CD release Sometimes You Win, recorded at Strait Sound in Roberts Creek in 2008. Tickets are $15, available at the Welcome Woods Market and the Halfmoon Bay General Store, or at www.joestanton.com.

This Saturday, March 16, Woods Showcase in Sunnycrest Mall presents a few fun events.
Get ready for Easter with Silke Billig who will lead an introduction to felting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 10 plus. Fee is $40.
From 1 to 3 p.m. come along to meet author and poet Terry Barker, who you don't often see outside of Sechelt these days. Have a look at his many local history books and learn about his new poetry collection, to be published soon.

Film Society
The SC Film Society presents The Kid with a Bike, a French/Belgian drama from directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne in French with English subtitles onMonday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7) at Gibsons Heritage Playhouse.
The film was the winner of the grand jury prize at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and a Golden Globe nominee for best foreign language film.
This deeply moving film by the acclaimed Dardenne brothers delves into the emotional life of Cyril, a troubled 11-year-old. When his narcissistic father abandons him, Cyril launches a desperately obsessive search for a bicycle that symbolizes their relationship.

Dance workshop
A Love of Dance Workshopwith Danielle Gardner from So You Think You Can Dance Canada and Miguel Nguyen from the Georgia Ballet was held last weekend.
Coast audiences know Nguyen as the Cavalier and the Snow Prince from the Coasting Along Theatre production of TheNutcracker. The dancers shared their talent with 32 dancers from the Coast and Vancouver, dancingballet and contemporaryfor two days in an event organized by Dominique Hutchinson from Dominique's School of Dance.Everyone gathered at the Heritage Playhouse where an audience of friends and families was treated to excerpts of a ballet pas de deux and a solo with guest dancers Yuta Kawakam and Hiroko Watanabe.
