Get ready to enjoy another eclectic season of outdoor concerts in Sechelt. The Sechelt Summer Music Series kicks off Saturday, July 4 at noon with a free concert by local acoustic/electric duo Justus, followed by The Knotty Dotters marimba band at 1 p.m. Both bands will play on the Garden Stage next to the Sechelt Public Library (5797 Cowrie St.).
In addition to the eight Saturday concerts on the Garden Stage, there will also be four concerts downtown on Sundays in August. The Downtown Stage will be located on the lawn in front of the former Catholic Church at 5699 Cowrie St.
“Bring the family and a picnic blanket!” said arts coordinator Siobhan Smith. “Both of our outdoor concert locations are ideal for a picnic lunch – you can get food and drink from one of the local cafés or vendors at the Sechelt Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market, and then enjoy your meal with musical accompaniment.”
Updated schedules of performances are posted to the Facebook page “Sechelt Summer Music Series,” on Twitter @SecheltMusic, and in Coast Reporter.
