Community art in Sechelt

Municipal Hall

This is the last month to view the winter/spring community art display at the Sechelt Public Library and Sechelt Municipal Hall lobby.

The current display includes a diverse range of works by local artists at various stages in their artistic careers.

In the Internet/computer station area of the library, a bold sculptural work by artist Bob Evermon, titled Samba, is paired with the vibrant and dynamic painting Manhattan by Jane Richardson. The young adult section of the library is enlivened with everything from local wildlife scenes by painter Harry Almond and whimsical landscapes by illustrator Jana Curll to a portrait by Steve Murdoch and manga-like mixed media works by Elaine Seepish.

Upstairs in the lobby of the municipal hall offices are a selection of emotive and ethereal landscape paintings by Ruth Rodgers and Lynda Murdoch. In total there are 25 artworks by 11 local artists, and most of the artworks are for sale.

Interested in having your artwork on view? There is still time to apply for the summer display.
