On Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m. the Sunshine Coast Film Society will present at the Raven’s Cry Theatre Herb and Dorothy, a film documenting the true story of a New York couple of modest means – she a librarian, he a postal clerk – who, in a one-bedroom apartment, managed to build one of the most important contemporary art collections in history. Their shared passion and discipline redefine what it means to be an art collector.
Complementing this multi-award-winning film, in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, the Film Society is featuring a “Portico Pop-Up Art Gallery” on the premises, showing the work of 10 Coast artists.
Tickets to the film are $5 for SCFS members or $9 for single-event members. The portico art display will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Doors to the theatre open at 1:30.
