Kelly Smit (pianist), Sarah Harding (flautist) and Tim Enns (percussionist) have performed together for many years with a unique instrumentation that invites audiences to experience ensemble playing in a whole new way. They have appeared in many venues and series including the Artesia Coffeehouse Series, Music in the Landing, GPAG Café Series and other SC Music Society events. Their polished repertoire will include selections from Claude Bolling, Astor Piazolla and Ignatio Cervantes.
The trio is thrilled to be appearing with Michael Friedman, a singer/ guitarist who continuously tours Europe and Canada making full use of his passionate and powerful three-octave voice combined with a stunning eclectic new acoustic guitar playing approach. A Coast newcomer, Friedman is an extremely diverse musician whose career has included international performances both as a soloist and as a member of several groups, TV and film scores (including 120 original works as Music Director of CBC’s Front Page Challenge) and collaborations with German cellist/orchestral arranger Jens Naumilkat to take his original songs to symphonic stage.
