Indigenous Lore, Legends, and Perspectives

On Saturday, March 27, all are invited to hear Indigenous storytellers from the shíshálh and skwxwú7mesh Nations as they share stories that will “convey our connections to both our ancestors and the unborn, our love for this sacred land, and our hopes for the future. These stories are rooted in a long traditions of oral history and intercultural sharing.” The hour-long online event, Virtual Salish Storytelling – Indigenous Lore, Legends and Perspectives, starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are available at the Aboriginal & Eco Tours website or by phone toll-free at 1-800-605-4643.

The Immaculate Conception

The final Off the Page production of the season runs on Sunday, March 28, with Wanda Nowicki and Boyd Norman reading Vancouver writer James Fagan Tait’s play, The Immaculate Conception. The Off the Page folks have been performing readings both on the Sunshine Coast and at Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver since September.

This finale will take place at the Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons, but as we’re still trying to contain COVID, it will be online only.

The play starts at 1 p.m.

The band Poppa Greg, with Greg Slauenwhite, Chris Georgas, Dylan Brackett, and Mike West, performs at the Clubhouse Restaurant at the Pender Harbour Golf Course on Sunday March 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. COVID protocols in place.
