Back on the Coast by popular demand, Marcus Mosely and Gail Suderman, with their new quartet Soulworks, perform at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, at Chatelech Theatre.

Mosely and Suderman are well known for the wonderful workshops they facilitate. Both master musicians, they are now being featured as performers.

Suderman is much sought after as a vocal coach and performer, is on the faculty of Kwantlen College and is known as one of the top music educators in B.C. Her voice is simply beautiful, as are her piano stylings.

Mosely, from Ralls, Texas, has performed in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific. Vancouver has been his home since 1986 and he is well known for his performances in many highly-successful musical productions such as Ain't Misbehavin', Black and Gold Revue and Show Boat. Together Mosely and Suderman conduct the Good Noise Vancouver gospel choir and they are artists in residence at Christ Church Cathedral.

Lou Hoover has been playing drums since he was 12 years old and was playing in Las Vegas at the ripe old age of 17. He is an outstanding musician who has worked with the Powder Blues Band, Skywalk and Jim Byrnes. Dave Olson was born and raised in Vancouver. He is a well known and much in demand bassist, easily able to "kick up the funk" and to produce incredible melodic stylings and amazing lyrical phrasing.

Together these four musicians have become Soulworks. Opening for Soulworks is a great group from the Coast, Definitely Diva. Tickets are $15, available at Talewind Books and Coast Books or through Lynne Dickson at 604-885-3494.
