One-O-One Office Supply in Sechelt brings three artists together for the exhibition 3@101 opening on Nov. 1 and running until Dec. 31. This show features artists Nedeen Boon, Mary Dolman and Janice Rafael. Many of the works are inspired by the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast.

Boon was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and said, “I have always had a special connection with the natural beauty that the Coast provides.” While hiking and kayaking Boon captures the beauty of the Sunshine Coast through her photography for her unique pieces. The photo images are transferred from paper to wood, leaving only the ink of the image behind.

Dolman moved to Sechelt two years ago after living for 14 years in Dawson City, Yukon, just south of the Arctic Circle. Her love of nature and the rhythms of the northern climate have shaped her artistic vision. She established a reputation as a northern artist, with a painting in the Yukon Permanent Collection. Since returning to B.C. Dolman has found artistic inspiration in the ocean and sky.

Rafael, born in Powell River and living in Sechelt for the past 11 years, has had work in shows in Toronto and London, England. She said, “I love working mainly in acrylics, using bright colours. I enjoy creating work that makes people as happy as I am when I am painting. I work loosely and quickly, often adding a lot of texture to my work.”

3@101 can be viewed at One-O-One, 5672 Cowrie St. in Sechelt. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
