Max Domi brought a smile to many Proline bettors last weekend.
Domi's shootout goal earned the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers on Saturday night. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., 56 per cent of bettors had Toronto to win while 73 per cent correctly selected the total over 6.5 goals.
But that elation was short lived as the Boston Bruins defeated Toronto 4-1 on Monday night. Just 43 per cent of customers took the Bruins to win while only 32 per cent had the total under 6.5 goals.
Meanwhile in the NBA, the Toronto Raptors downed the Charlotte Hornets 111-106 on Sunday. Fifty-five per cent of bettors took Toronto to win while 51 per cent had Charlotte +7.5 points.
And 57 per cent correctly took the total under 225.5 points.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen began the Formula One season on a winning note, capturing the Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday night. Verstappen is the circuit's defending champion.
Thirty-nine per cent of wagers were on Verstappen winning the race while 89 per cent had him earning a top-three finish. However, only 21 per cent had Red Bull winning the race compared to 56 per cent for Ferrari.
A Proline digital customer won $15,092 from a $25 wager on a 10-pick NCAA basketball parlay. A retail bettor earned $4,450 from a $20 bet on an eight-pick soccer parlay.
