World Day of Prayer planned March 3

It is a known fact that when women get together for a common purpose, things start to happen. And this year’s World Day of Prayer planned for Friday, March 3 is no exception.

Of course, the invitation to join in prayer for this yearly event is open to everyone, but the driving force toward planning and preparation of the worship service, has nominally been the purview of the women of the world, and has been so for the last 100 years. In Canada, this event is coordinated by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada (WICC); one of the original founders of this prayer movement.

This year the women of Taiwan have prepared the service, the theme based on that wonderful scripture from Ephesians1:15-19, featured above.

Traditionally, various churches of the Sunshine Coast host this yearly event and this year, the women of Holy Family Catholic Church, sponsored by the Catholic Women’s League of Canada are happy to extend an invitation to all to come in prayer and fellowship in solidarity with the women of Taiwan.

So, make a circle around March 3 and stay alert!  More info will be coming in the days ahead!
