Members of the Suncoast Woodcrafters Guild, sponsors (Lehigh Cement, Community Forest, and the Sunshine Coast Regional District) and Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) recently celebrated the donation of more than 100 beautifully hand-crafted wooden toys that will be given to low-income families in our community. Treasures include wooden trains, doll houses, puzzles, walking ducks and jewelry boxes.
“For me, this is the highlight of the holiday season,” said Kelly Foley from SCCSS. “It is quite magical to witness such an outpouring of community support.”
The donations will form part of the North Pole project, a room filled with goodies, toys, clothing, art and other gifts — all donated by people from our community. SCCSS clients have the opportunity to visit the North Pole to select gifts for their loved ones.
