A couple of weeks ago at beautiful Skaha Lake in Penticton, the Sunshine Coast Dragon Boat Club fielded a team of competitive women aptly named the Paddle Axes.
COVID wreaked havoc on our membership levels so we built this new team merged from members of Sunshine Dragons Abreast, the McKenzie Mussels and Sea Gals.
Spirits were high as they finished first in their semi-final with a perfect race to launch them into a medal category.
These strong, determined women with ages from their 20s to 70s showed grit and determination, winning a bronze. For information on joining our club email [email protected].
