More than 140 trivia players from all over the Sunshine Coast met at the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre on Oct. 15 for the fourth Trivia Night fundraiser for animal welfare.

Emcee and trivia master Gibsons Mayor Barry Janyk and a crew of volunteers kept the action going as 18 teams competed for the Renaissance Trivia Cup.

Winning team I.S.P. (Gary Little, Bette Chadwick, Laima Van Turnhout, Larry Chadwick and Phyllis Mooney) took an early lead and finished the evening victorious.

Trivia Night began in 2007 as a fundraiser for Renaissance Animal Rescue and continued until 2009. This year Trivia Night was a fundraiser for the spay and neuter programs of Happy Cat Haven and PawPrints Animal Rescue. More than $5,400 was raised.
