Toastmasters leads the way

Many people know of Toastmasters as an international organization in 113 countries worldwide, dedicated to 'better listening, better thinking, better speaking,' and that describes Toastmasters well.

Many people know of Toastmasters as an international organization in 113 countries worldwide, dedicated to 'better listening, better thinking, better speaking,' and that describes Toastmasters well.

Many people have also heard about being asked to make impromptu speeches. Well, that is only a very small part of the Toastmasters picture.

Recently Toastmasters has launched a new logo and brand, to rightly position it in the global community. This is the new brand: Toastmasters International -'where leaders are made.'

Toastmasters truly makes leaders, although most participants do not join to become a leader. This is something that happens over time. It is more of an organic process. Members continuously take on new roles -sometimes pushing and prodding themselves to do what they never imagined doing. And a funny thing happens. We become leaders in the process, acquiring presentation and speaking skills, which become apparent to others who are watching us grow.

The Gibsons Morningstars Club meets every Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. at Harmony Hall.

The group is inviting the community out to an open house breakfast meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12 to see what they are all about. You will find a warm welcome, tasty food and interesting conversation.
