SC Spirit of Excellence will offer an innovative series of programs called Power Girls for girls in grades six to 12 starting on March 26, divided in three age groups. Instructors Rochelle Fairfield and Birgit Breuer will empower teens to use their emotional intelligence when forming relationships or a healthy body image. They will explore the power of media and the entertainment industry and develop strong life skills such as how to choose and pursue their individual career dreams.

Events in world history, current news reports about violence against women and bullying at schools prove that there is a high need for girls to find their own identity in our society.

Fairfield is a certified integral coach, who brings more than a dozen years training and practice in human consciousness development from masters around the globe. She combines human development theory with hands-on coaching in leadership skills as well as self-awareness training to increase girls' self-esteem.

Breuer received her diploma in sports from the Olympic Centre Munich and Sports Medicine from Munich University of Technology. Subsequently, she attended a post-university management school for media and became Sony BMG Music Europe's international manager. Then, CBS Cable Networks hired her as new head of their Music Division in USA. She loves to empower young girls to discover and increase their emotional and physical strength.

All programs run on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Chaster House in Gibsons.

Grades 6/7 can join March 26 to April 16, grades 8/9 April 23 to May 14 and grades 10 to 12 from May 21 to June 11. Each program costs $40. Please register at www.scsoe.ca or call 604-886-6591.
