The circle of life continues at the Coast's inaugural Salmon Release Festival

Well over 100 people gathered at Chapman Creek Hatchery on May 21 for the inaugural Salmon Release Festival, reconnecting thousands of young salmon with their natural environment.

Members of shíshálh Nation opened the occasion with drumming. Attendees of all ages helped release fish, with the hope that the salmon will return to the creek to spawn and continue the circle of life.  

The event also included creativity stations, a natural scavenger hunt, archery lesson, and a fly-tying opportunity.
