It was a wonderful sunny and productive TELUS Day of Giving at Wilson Creek's Habitat for Humanity site on Saturday, May 28.
TELUS provided current employees and the necessary equipment and hardware to fully install the telecommunications wiring for first two-site duplex.
Wakefield Construction headed the efforts to begin installation of the same duplex porches and decking. Thanks to the volunteers from the Rotary Club of Gibsons, TELUS community ambassadors and Habitat for Humanity for helping in this construction.
In all, there were 15 volunteers, including two children, who made a wonderful contribution to the on-going construction at the site, and thanks to TELUS for choosing and organizing the Wilson Creek Habitat for Humanity site for one of their TELUS Day of Giving locations.
Over the next few years, 12 more duplexes will be constructed on the Wilson Creek site, creating a total of 14 new beginnings for families. The second double duplex has begun, with the foundation and flooring started.
This site relies on contributions and volunteers to complete each duplex for occupancy. Want to help? Call Joan Fallis at 604-886-5357 or Dale Harvey at 604-885-4789
