Each year the Royal Canadian Legion invites students across Canada to learn about and remember veterans who have sacrificed for our country and those who continue to serve today. Students are given the opportunity to represent their remembrance through creative art and writing. West Sechelt Elementary students in Julie Rempel’s class were visited recently by Sechelt Royal Canadian Legion Branch 140 president, Kay Metcalfe. She presented awards to students who won the Annual Poster and Literary Contest. The school thanks the Royal Canadian Legion for helping youth be an active part of remembrance.
