“Spreading Kindness” is the theme of the community fundraiser spearheaded by Lyn Charlton. Donations will benefit locals with essentials at Christmas and throughout the year. Make your donation through the local Rotary Club link at https://portal.cubrunner.ca/1875/donate or by cheque payable to Pender Harbour Rotary, Box 40, Garden Bay, BC, V0N 1S0. 

The Pender Harbour branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will once again host their annual In Lieu of Christmas Cards. Extend season greetings to friends and family to be printed in the Coast Reporter. Send your donation with the recipient’s names to Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, Box 101, Madeira Park, BC, V0N 2H0. Please submit by Saturday, Dec. 12. Shop local is so easy to do and what a fabulous bounty of gifts to choose from in stores in downtown Madeira and online. EarthFair is open Mondays to Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the month of December. You can phone 604-883-9006 and shop by phone, or go with convenient curbside pickup and delivery to local neighbourhoods. Give the latest books to your friends by having them delivered to their door; cookbooks, novels, B.C. history, travel tales. Maybe maps, stuffies? How about a warm and cozy pollen sweater and toque? 

The Harbour Gallery will open for a special Christmas sale Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (coinciding with Serendipity fundraiser pickup) and Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The Bargain Barn special sales events just keep getting better! On Dec. 12, a fabulous offering of Three for One. Yes, believe it! Pay for one and take two similar items home for free! On Dec. 16 and 19, the final sale for 2020 will be Fill a Brown Bag for only $5. Last day for donations is Friday, Dec. 11 at the Community Hall, 1 to 4 p.m., until February 2021. Huge heartfelt thanks to all the hardworking BB volunteers who have carried on and constantly adjusted to new safety protocols to keep our favourite shopping spot open during the pandemic. Remember folks, proceeds go to the Pender Harbour Health Centre. 

The Pender Harbour Aquatic Society will be holding a virtual AGM on Monday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. All members of the Pender Harbour and Egmont community are welcome to attend, and should you wish to, please contact Robert Campbell at [email protected] for more information.
