The second annual Sunshine Coast Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m., Persephone Brewing Co. and Pulledin PR have announced.
The festival is set to take place at Quality Garden and Pet on Pratt Road, where the greenhouse will host the 21 participating breweries and other participants.
All of the proceeds of the event will benefit SCACL – the Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living. They will have a booth on site, along with the CAMRA Powell River branch.
The participating breweries, cidery and spirit company include: Tod Creek Craft Cider, Persephone, Yellow Dog Brew, Category 12 Brewing, Howe Sound, Steel & Oak, Dageraad Brewing, Strangefellows Brewing, Four Winds Brewing, Townsite Brewing, Moon Under Water, Main Street, Long Table, Parallel 49, Deep Cove Brewing, R&B, Moody Ales, Hoyne, Callister, Phillips and Twin Sails.
Sponsor of the event is the Sunshine Coast Credit Union. In-kind sponsors include Quality Farm and Pet, Gibsons Public Market, Bonniebrook Industries, and Olson Electric.
At the festival, guests will receive a tasting glass and get to try over 46 types of beverage, some unique to the festival. Organizers are expecting over 350 compared to 230 at last years’ event. After parties will be held at the Blackfish Pub, which will be hosting a mini Persephone tap take-over for the night, and will feature a beer-inspired menu, as well as Gramma’s Pub, which will be hosting a Townsite mini tap take-over. Shuttle buses will be made available to and from the festival and party venues, as well as a SCACL-donation shuttle to and from the ferry throughout the day.
Tickets are available online through Eventbrite as well as at the Persephone Tasting Room, Quality Garden and Pet, RC General Store and the Lighthouse Liquor Store in Sechelt.
