The funds came from the donations given by the public on Saturday and Sunday of the festival weekend for the pancake breakfast, prepared again this year by the Salvation Army, topped up with some of the proceeds of this year’s festival. “So much was raised this year by kind donations and sponsorship of businesses and the public that most events were free, or all but free,” Glencross said. After paying all the expenses, he added, “with some of the remainder we were able to top up the donation to the Salvation Army to help out in our community to those in need.”
