Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful week with rain and more rain and wind and then lots of wind. Thank-you again to all the crews out working in these terrible conditions to restore our power, remove debris and keep us safe!
The first week of pickleball at the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School proved to be quite popular with 11 participants on Tuesday and 19 on Thursday. There was some spirited play on two courts and all left feeling happy and a little sweaty. Courts are available every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the school gym. Players are reminded that they must be a member of the HBCoA prior to attending and proof of double vaccination is required. Participants must wear a mask while not playing. The cost is only $4/person, each session. If you would like more information, please contact Tim at [email protected] or Don at [email protected].

The 2nd Annual Halfmoon Bay Sail Pass is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 18, at sunset. Although this announcement is early, organizer Lynn Smith wanted to get the word out to fellow boaters who might be interested to join this fun event. Last year, 19 decorated boats cruised along to the delight of all on shore as the boats first rendezvoused near Merry Island, had a visit with Santa from his dinghy, then headed along the Halfmoon Bay shoreline. Along with all the wonderful decorated boats, some waterfront homeowners decorated their exteriors so that those on the water could enjoy the lights and decorations as well. The crowds who gathered at the water’s edge were by far the most amazing. Boaters could hear their shouts, laughter and thank-yous as the boats slowly drifted by. Some brave kayakers were in the water taking pictures and showing their appreciation for this awesome holiday spirit. If you would like more information, please contact Lynn at [email protected]. This event is weather permitting and more confirmed details will be provided closer to the date.
