Members of the 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group gathered at Camp Byng in Roberts Creek on Sept. 10 to plant seedling trees. The trees were planted primarily in an area that was flooded and washed out last November during the heavy rains experienced at that time.

The tree planting was part of requirements towards the youth members earning their community badges.

The Scout Group extends its thanks to the folks at the Sunshine Coast Community Forest who donated the seedling trees and assisted in organizing the event.

Scouting is the largest youth organization, and the largest youth educational organization, in the world, with more than 57 million active members worldwide, in almost every country in the world. Scouting in Canada is coed, accepting both girls and boys. The 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group has openings for Beaver Scouts (ages five to seven), Cub Scouts (ages eight to 10), Sea Scouts (ages 11 to 14), and Sea Venturer Scouts (ages 14 to17). Youth members can join Scouting at any time of the year. Please contact 604-885-2282 for more information.
