Egmont Heritage Centre invites you to join them for an afternoon event “Remembering Carmen,” a celebration of the life of Barbara Carmelita Higgins, a shíshálh Rememberer, Sunday, Sept. 29, 1 to 3 p.m. The celebration will include drumming, refreshments, free museum membership, 15 per cent off gift shop items and all local West Coast and Indigenous art will be on sale.
Pender Harbour Fall Fair, Sunday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hall will include fun and festivities for everyone, food, artisans, kids games, cookie decorating to name a few. The Community Hall is a valuable asset for Pender Harbour. It provides a venue for regular activities of senior initiatives; Harbourside Friendships, carpet bowling and chair yoga, and is the venue for community events such as the Christmas and spring markets, school concerts and activities, and musical performances hosted by the Pender Harbour Blues Society. With space for gatherings of up to 200 people and available for rent, many weddings and celebrations have been held in this fine building. The Oct. 8 Women’s Connection will host Marlene Cymbalist who will provide the history of our local much-loved hall. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Drop-in fee of $4, complimentary refreshments included. The event is located at the Pender Harbour School of Music.
Later in the day, Oct. 8, the Pender Harbour and Area Residents Association invites you to an all candidates meeting at the Legion. Meet your candidates. Learn about them and their platforms. Doors open at 4 p.m. Candidates’ presentations at 5:30 p.m.
