Coffee House tonight at the School of Music with three of the harbour’s favourite entertainers, Lori Carmicheal and the delightful duo of Ted and Joan. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. Suggested donation at the door $10. Desserts, tea, and coffee available. 

FLAIR on the Coast will be held on Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. This month they welcome an amazing talent, Sydney More, Teeny Beasties. Sydney loves making quirky, one-of-a-kind art and home decor with sheep’s wool. You will learn all about the special sheep she gets her wool from and the process of felting as well as seeing her creations. FLAIR is a Cancer Support Group and invites those needing information with similar concerns in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join them. The Pender Harbour Women’s Connection is pleased to have Leslie McDougall return as a speaker on May 14. Their audience was delighted with Leslie’s presentation of an entertaining flute concert at the Celtic New Year celebration. This time, Leslie returns in her professional capacity as a legal coach, owner of Legal Coach Studio. Leslie will explain how this new initiative will improve access to justice and be a more cost-effective approach for the lay/self-represented person. Leslie will clarify how as a legal coach, she can help people draft their own simple will, probate a will through the courts, obtain an uncontested divorce or assist with an existing court action. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music. Drop-in fee of $4 includes refreshments. 

Harbourside Friendships, Thursday, May 16, will be a very social time when the Madeira Park Elementary students come to visit 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hall. Lunch served at noon for $10.

The 19th Annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival June 7,8 and 9, without a doubt will be three days of incredible music. Performances by The Paperboys, Tom Lavin, Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whitely, Joani Bye, Marcus Mosely, Paul Pigat, Joe Rotundo, Joe Stanton and many more. This year’s festival is dedicated in loving memory to the founder of the Pender Harbour Blues Society, Ron Johnson. Purchase tickets at www.phblues.ca. 

In May and June calm your mind with “Mindfulness and Meditation.” It will be held four Wednesday evenings (May 15, May 29, June 5, and June 19) from 7:30 to 8:30  p.m. at the Sarah Wray Hall. Please email [email protected] with enquiries.
