It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas John Scodras. He was born December 3, 1955, in Montreal, QC, where he lived until his late teens. He moved to Ontario, and then to Fort St. James, BC, to work in a sawmill. He eventually settled on the Sunshine Coast.

Tom's skill in hand-painted lettering led him to become an accomplished sign maker. Tom Signs operated for almost 40 years on the Sunshine Coast. In that time, he made numerous friends and connections with people in all walks of life. His legacy as an artist and a craftsman can be seen in the signs that he made and installed all over the Sunshine Coast.

Tom was a talented musician who hosted weekly jam sessions in his basement for over three decades. He always enjoyed playing music with his friends and that was made apparent by his generosity with his time and energy.

He passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Deane; his three children, Tyler, Troy, and Dayna (and her partner, Adrian); his brother, Andy; his sister, Toni Ann; his extended family; and all who knew him.

He was always quick to smile. We will miss his warmth, his kindness, and his humour.

There will be no funeral by his request.
