Obituary: Dougald George MacDonald

October 18, 1943 - May 4, 2023

Dougald passed away peacefully in Gibsons with his sons Derek and Ross (Malia) and close friend Marlene at his side.

Dougald was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2014. He is survived by Derek and Ross (Malia); his sister Jean (Ron); his nephews Craig (Lydia, Stella) and Scott (Heather, Anika).

Passionate about nature and art, Dougald obtained a BSc from the University of Western Ontario, moved to BC, and completed an MSc in Planning from the University of British Columbia. His different careers fuelled his love of woodworking, painting, carving, travelling and gardening.

Dougald’s artwork will be featured on an upcoming broadcast “Artist in the House” with Ed Hill on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 5:30pm on Eastlink.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 20 from 2pm-4pm at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek.
