Moustaches race up Soames for men's health

The inaugural Moustache Mountain Hiking Race was held on Sunday, Nov. 24. An official Movember move event, participants moustachioed or not, male and female raced from Soames Beach to the top of Soames Hill.

An official Movember move event, participants moustachioed or not, male and female raced from Soames Beach to the top of Soames Hill. The goal of the event was to raise awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancers and mens mental health challenges. New to Movember this year, move eventsexist to encourage physical activity and healthy living.

The Moustache Mountain race was organized by Sunshine Coast Alternative School teacher David Hallstead, who represented the Movember Team: Sunshine MOast Crew. Prizes were generously donated by local businesses Bull Chophouse & Meating Place, The Gumboot Restaurant & Café, and personal trainer Ben Smith of Vibe Fitness.

First place male participant was Aaron Fuller, first place female participant was Shell Windsor, and winner of Best Moustache went to Sean Divers.
