Memorial ceremony in Sechelt

The Sunshine Coast Naval Association welcomes all veterans and the public to the annual memorial ceremony of the Battle of the Atlantic held at the Sechelt Legion, May 6 at 11 a.m.

The service is to remember all the Navy ships sunk during the Second World War and for all those men who went down with them.

The last ship sunk was HMCS Esquimalt, April 16, 1945. 

The last survivor to pass away was Joe Wilson who died New Year’s Day, 2017, aged 90.
