Come meet the farm animals on May 1, while supporting injured local wildlife – a fabulous adventure for all. Interact, hold, feed and learn about over 20 varieties of farm animals. Meet the national champion Andalusian horse who talks and scratches your back and a goat who walks on her hind legs, feed a tea cup pig who sits and makes faces, receive a kiss from Dodger the llama.
Take a tour of the petting farm, complete with animal goodie bags. Enjoy free pony rides and sample homemade bakery goods and juice, while local singer/songwriter Bonar Harris performs throughout the afternoon.
Meet Clint and Irene Davey who operate the Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (GWRC). As the Centre’s federal and provincial permits do not allow public viewing of wildlife, this fundraiser gives children and adults the opportunity to learn about, touch and interact compassionately with farm animals – a tactile experience becoming rarer in today’s society.
Enjoy fun for young and old, with a donation to Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. The event takes place from noon to 3 p.m. at Party Ponies & Farm Ventures, 713 Sullivan Rd. in Roberts Creek. One hundred per cent of donations go to GWRC.
