Kay Metcalf, president of the Sechelt Legion, presents a $500 cheque to Wendy Hunt, chair of the Loan Cupboard.
Each year, a portion of funds raised by the Legion is used by the Poppy Fund Trust to support programs that provide a service to veterans, their spouses and families and the community.
This year, the Sechelt Legion chose to recognize the services provided by the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary Loan Cupboard, which provides, free of charge, home care, health-related equipment on short-term loan.
The Loan Cupboard is located in the basement of the Sechelt Hospital (604-885-2224, ext. 4204).
