Kinnikinnick Elementary received a red cedar log last week, delivered at no cost by Gibsons Building Supplies and donated by the shíshálh Nation. It will be used by accomplished shíshálh carver Tony Paul to create a 10-foot welcome figure to be mounted in the school’s foyer. Students will participate in the carving, a project that has been a dream for many since Kinnikinnick’s opening in 1999.
