Is there help to get to vaccine clinic?

I am 82 years old and have some mobility issues. I want a COVID-19 vaccine but don’t know how to get to the clinic.

This is an important question. When you call Vancouver Coastal Health to make an appointment for your first dose, let them know about your mobility issues and they will make arrangements for you to get the shot. The vaccination rollout is now in Phase 2 so anyone born before 1951 can call the booking line at 1-877-587-5767. The phone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. More information is available at gov.bc.ca/bcseniorsfirst.

I’ve been hearing about a Poverty Reduction Strategy for the Sunshine Coast. Is it too late to get involved?

It’s true that a Resource Centre project team has been looking into ways to address poverty here on the Coast. This has been happening since the fall of 2020. The project is funded by District of Sechelt and the Union of BC Municipalities. No, it’s not too late to have your say and share your perspective. Project leads Betty Baxter and Pat Feindel are going to hold virtual public forums on March 29, April 13 and April 26. You can register on the Resource Centre website www.resourcecentre.ca/imagine or email imagine@resourcecentre.ca for more information.
