Calvary Baptist welcomes Rev. Dr. Laura Nelson as the interim pastor. Laura was the lead pastor of Olivet Baptist in New Westminster for the past 12.5 years and comes to us with a heart to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus. She has two adult daughters, lives on Keats Island, coaches people struggling with past hurts, and has written a book on prevention of clergy sexual misconduct. Laura is excited to be with us, not to just “hold the fort” as we look for our next full-time pastor, but to help us grow and move forward.
To that end we are starting up new and old programs and would love for you to join us.
Each Wednesday during the summer we are meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Robert’s Creek Picnic Ground (foot of Flume Road) weather permitting. Bring your own picnic supper and lawn chair. We are also hosting backyard BBQs the first Sunday of the month during the summer, and many activities will resume in the fall.
