It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter, who left us on May 29, 2025, at the age of 78. Peter was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his quick wit, generous heart, and endless love for his family.

Peter will be deeply missed by his wife and soulmate, Sharon; his sons, Doug and Bryan; his cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Llewellyn, Stella, Charlotte, Ben, Seth, Trevor and new baby Evelyn; his stepdaughters, Dianne (Kirk) and Carol (Corey); his brother, Jim (Ivane); his sister, Adrienne (Dave), and his sister-in-law, Sharon. He also leaves behind many friends and neighbours whose lives he touched with his kindness and humour.

A true jack-of-all-trades, Peter had a passion for cooking, playing guitar, reading, woodworking, and tinkering on old cars. He could often be found with a book in one hand and a glass of red wine in the other. When he wasn’t playing a tune on his guitar, he was at a table enjoying a puzzle or sharing a laugh over one of his many limericks. He never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, embodying generosity in all he did.

His family and friends will remember him for his big heart, his sense of humour, and the way he could make any gathering feel intimate and special.

Peter suffered from a long illness and his family is so grateful to all the support from friends, the palliative care team, and Dr. Belgraver.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunshine Coast Hospice or BC Cancer Foundation.

As Peter might say, “Never challenge death to a pillow fight, unless you are prepared to handle the reaper cushions."
