A very special Sunshine Coast evening lecture on how to raise children who are calmer, happier and more, by Kim John Payne, will be held this Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt.

Payne visited the Coast in September and lectured on bullying to a very receptive audience of parents, faculty and care workers. At this Tuesday's lecture, parents will learn life-long tools on parenting and enjoy Payne's humour and incredible insight on parenting and children.

With his awareness of the challenges of our times, Payne provides practical tools to help us understand our children and enjoy our lives together. He has worked for 24 years as a counsellor, educator and consultant/researcher helping children, adolescents and families explore social difficulties, attention and behavioural issues at home and school.

Payne regularly gives key note addresses at international conferences for educators, parents and therapists and runs workshops and training sessions at colleges, clinics and schools. He often focuses on helping teachers and parents remove emotional and social obstacles from the paths of their children.
