As we all know, Christmas is coming!  This brings along with it the stresses of buying that “perfect” gift for someone. Whether the gift is for friends or family, everyone knows the feeling of “I hope they like this”  that comes with buying presents. So I asked some high school students what the favourite – or most memorable –  gift they’ve ever received has been.

Melissa, Grade 12: “I think my most memorable gift I’ve ever received was a giant teddy bear I got when I was five.”

Colin, Grade 12: “My Apple Watch has definitely been the most memorable gift I’ve received. I wanted a new watch, and it’s super useful.”

Fergus, Grade 12: “The Sea Hawks jersey I got for Christmas one year has for sure been my favourite gift I’ve ever gotten.”

Jeanette, Grade 11: “The best memorable gift I’ve ever gotten was a plane ticket to Mexico.”

Asha, Grade 11: “The most memorable gift I have received was the time I traveled around the world for three months. I visited Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia, and China. It was an amazing experience.”

As I asked each student what their favourite or most memorable gift has ever been, it was clear to me how memorable small, and large gifts can be. I hope everyone has a memorable holiday this year, and thanks for reading. Merry Christmas!
