What a Wonderful World! Pender Harbour Choir and director Kenneth Norman Johnson, with David Poon, invite you to join them in celebrating the wonder and beauty of our world with song this Sunday, May 27 at the Pender Harbour School of Music. Reception is at 2 p.m., concert at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available from choir members, EarthFair Store and Sechelt Visitor Centre.
The Pender Harbour Golf Course has introduced a fun event every Wednesday until mid September, Birdies, Bites and Bevies: nine holes of golf with a weekly twist or challenge, plus cart and prizes for $27. After golf enjoy appetizers and a beverage for $12. All levels of golfers are welcome. Call the Pro Shop at 604-883-9541 to register.

What a great May Day! Thanks to the organizers, sponsors and all the Pender pirate folks who came out and celebrated. Another great festival coming up is Egmont Day, on Saturday, June 2, with non-stop fun, food and festivities in downtown Egmont and the government dock. Starting at 9 a.m. with the kids fishing derby for all under 12 years with great prizes to be won. Next will be the parade, BBQ lunch, field games, petting zoo, pony rides and chili cook off. The Pender Harbour Blues Festival is just a week away! If you haven’t got tickets, visit www.phblues.ca to see all the amazing entertainers and buy your tickets. Reservations are required for restaurant venues. Remember the Slo Cat and auto transport are available and must be reserved.
The Legion will be hosting several events during the Blues Festival. Friday, June 1, 8 to 11:30 p.m. is Brent Parkin and The Grand Koolios. Saturday, June 2, 8 to 11:30 p.m. is Al Foreman and The Grand Koolios with Karen Graves. Sunday, June 3, 2:30 to 6 p.m., Tim Hearsey’s All Star Jam will include special guests Brent Parkin, Jim Byrnes, Brandon Issak, Al Foreman and Steve Kozak. And from 8 to 11:30 p.m., rock out with David Gogo and The Grand Koolios.
