Pender Harbour & Egmont

This Friday, May 11, the Pender Harbour Music Society Coffee House welcomes performers Bits of String with Kaia Neilsen, string bass, and Mark Lebell, guitar; Mari Neilsen, fiddle, Brison Geue, pianist; and Simon Paradis, legendary local singer, songwriter, guitarist. The Garden Club is pleased to present Kym Barnett from Kym’s Plants in Halfmoon Bay Monday, May 14, 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music. Barnett is a master gardener with a degree in horticulture currently running her very successful nursery from her home. Barnett’s presentation will focus on propagation and deer/elk proofing. The Garden Club meeting May 14 will be combined with a plant swap. Bring a plant, take a plant. Or you can buy a plant for a minimum $2 donation. Please bring cash and change. Label your plants with as much information as possible: name, best conditions, deer resistant, size, bloom time and appearance. 

The Pender Harbour Golf Course will host its annual Masters Par 3 tournament May 13. This is a shortened 18-hole scramble, $35 for golf, cart and prizes. Dinner at the Back 9 Bistro is extra. The ever popular Monday Night Scramble has returned for the season, $27 for golf, cart and prizes, dinner extra. All golfers, any level are welcome. Call the Pro Shop to register at 604-883-9541. 

Harbourside Friendship, May 17, come enjoy the Music of Pender Harbour Choir. Meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon. Drop in $10 at the Community Hall. 

What A Wonderful World: Pender Harbour Choir invites you to join them in celebrating the wonder and beauty of our world of song Friday, May 25 at Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden, and May 27 at Pender Harbour School of Music. Tickets are $20 at EarthFair Store, Sechelt Visitors Centre, and from choir members. 

The 15th annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival is less than a month away. Tickets are selling quickly for this year’s fantastic line up of performers. Make your reservations for the dinner shows soon. Jim Brynes gospel show has just a few tickets left. The SloCat Harbour Tours will be providing water transportation from the Garden Bay Pub to the government dock Friday and Saturday night, $10 each way.
