This Saturday, April 30 is a fantastic, fun-filled day in Pender Harbour with April Tools Wooden Boat Challenge, Serendipity Craft Fair, Community Club Plant Sale and the Legion’s Giant Garage Sale.
The 15th annual April Tools action-packed extra-vaganza takes place at Millennium Park at the government wharf. Watch as the hand-built crafts are constructed then hit the water. Visit www.apriltools.ca for a taste of the action.
The Serendipity Child Care Centre Craft Fair will have a fine selection of treasures and special gifts for Mother’s Day from local vendors. The Community Club Plant sale has outstanding offerings from the finest gardeners in the Harbour. All these events start at 10 a.m.
The Harbour Gallery beside Millennium Park will open at 11 a.m. with the exhibit Metamorphosis from guest artist Krista Maurer.
Head back to the Legion in the afternoon for a chance to Pull the Ace for a sweet jackpot of $925.
During the week there are more activities for all ages.
Harbourside Friendship on Thursday, May 5 will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a Mexican party starting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon for $10. On Friday, May 6, yoga starts with floor mat workouts 9 to 10 a.m. followed by chair yoga 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
May 6 is a Pro-D Day and Ruby Lake Lagoon Society invites kids aged seven to 12 to come explore the weird and wonderful world of the wetlands and forests at the Nature Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will include games, pond dipping, art and more at a cost of $20 for members $25 non-members. The annual Women’s Connection spring lunch-eon will be at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort in the scenic Seascape Room, on Tuesday, June 7 at noon. Escape for an afternoon with friends for an outstanding three-course luncheon and your favourite beverage as you listen to the waves lapping the shore and the wind moving through the trees.
