The School of Music Coffee House is on this Friday, with another evening of great entertainment. Come out and support Coast musicians! The lineup is Definitely Diva, dynamic women’s vocal trio; Coast favourites Lynne and Reg Dickson; Keiran Semple, talented singer/songwriter/guitarist; and local phenom Teal Loverock singing originals with guitar. Doors open at 7 p.m.; coffee/tea and home baking available.
The Pender Harbour Garden Club presents Resilient Gardens, April 11 at 1 p.m. at the School of Music. Is your garden ready for whatever the climate and weather deliver? This compact version of Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden’s six-hour course, presented by master gardeners Sheila Watkins and Paddy Wales, introduces plant choice, specific water use, and growing for resilience. Everyone welcome; $15 annual membership or $5 drop-in fee. Includes tea/coffee and goodies.
On Tuesday, April 12, travel vicariously with Lyn and Bill Charlton. Over 13 years, they logged 30,000 nautical miles while visiting 48 countries in their 35 foot Lord Nelson sailboat Canik. Join them for a brief glimpse into a world of discovery, adventure and unique experiences at the School of Music at 10 a.m.
Bingo – on Thursday nights at the Pender Harbour Community Hall – has the call out for more players to stay alive. Doors open at 6 p.m. Games begin at 7 p.m. This is a great evening out for fun, socializing and winning money!

Tuesday, April 12, join the walking group at 10:30 a.m. at the Health Centre. Wednesday is Carpet Bowling from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday’s Harbourside Friendship get together at 10:30 a.m. is all about fun and games with the Madeira Park Elementary students. Come play ping pong, foosball and carpet bowling and do a little crafting. Lunch will be served at noon for $10. All events are at the Community Hall.
Next Friday, April 15, the P.H. Legion will hold a Quiz Night at approximately 7:30 p.m. following fish and chips dinner.
Just two events are left in an outstanding season of fine music from the Pender Harbour Music Society. Sunday April 17, 2 p.m. at the School of Music, Canadian blues artist Brandon Isaak performs. Isaak plays the blues as though his soul is rooted south of Memphis. His fine musicianship and powerful song-writing abilities have been honed through collaboration with greats such as Jim Byrnes, Jeff Healey and Joe Louis Walker, and he is now internationally recognized as Canada’s emerging blues superstar.
