Madeira Market is back, every Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the summer under the shady trees beside Triple BBB Burgers. You will find a bounty of local produce, baking, preserves, art, jewels and beautifully crafted treasures, new and different each week, always at such amazing prices.

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed Pender Harbour Days Legion Week celebration last Saturday night. To the stellar team of volunteers and star performers, Skinny Jimmy & The Preachers, a lengthy, loud standing ovation! Come out to the Legion for more fun and games at the meat draws Saturdays and Sundays. Tonight, Chef Doug’s sweet and spicy cashew chicken is back by popular demand. The Pender Harbour Community Club Youth Group will run the last two Fridays of the month in July and August. Events for younger youth from 3 to 5 p.m., drop in from 5 to 7 p.m., and older youth from 7 to 10 p.m. Please contact Tess at 604-883-0024.

Put your best foot forward and take in the magnificent beauty of our Coast Mondays and Wednesdays with the Pender Harbour hiking club. Call 604-883-2930 to join them.

Summer family drop-in sports nights are happening in Madeira Park.  Families and visitors are invited to come out and play outdoor volleyball or basketball on Monday nights at the MPES field from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic if you like or just sit and enjoy watching. Younger kids can play at the park or in the playground. Let’s make this a great weekly event!

Summer drop-in pickleball is at PHHS gym during July and the first week of August. Come see what this fun sport is all about, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Carpet bowling happens at the P.H. Community Hall on Thursdays, 1 to 3 p.m.

July rambles are beginning at 8:30 a.m., to avoid the heat. Thursday, July 23, Lions Park Loops, meet by the playground at Pender Harbour Lions Park.

Harbourside Friendship summer program drop-ins start at 10:30 a.m., lunch served at noon. July 23 features speaker Alison Leaney on financial benefits for seniors.

Egmont and District Fire is holding a garage sale on July 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for a new compressed air foam fire pump. Donations of viable sale items will be gratefully accepted (tools and parts are best), as well as monetary donations. The pump will greatly enhance the ability to fight fires in hard to reach situations. Donations can be dropped with Kal Helyar, 604-740-1400, or Annette Sheppard, 604-741-7250.
