Madeira Market is back, every Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the summer under the shady trees beside Triple BBB Burgers. You will find a bounty of local produce, baking, preserves, art, jewels and beautifully crafted treasures.
Friday, July 10 School of Music Coffee House starts at 8 p.m. and will feature four local professional musicians: Kathrina Bishop, Mark Brezer, Kenneth Norman Johnson, and Mark Vance. Take in some great music at the waterfront theatre.

Celebrate Legion Week at Branch #112 Madeira Park Legion, with family-friendly food specials, displays of historic photos, and dancing to live music with Skinny Jimmy and The Preachers (in air conditioned comfort).
An open mike and potluck will be held at the Community Hall, Sunday, July 12 and Aug. 30 from 2 to 6 p.m. Anyone with talent is encouraged to share. Come out, support the community and mentor youth with music, food, and fun.

The Food Bank is open every second Monday from 12 to 12:30 p.m. The next day will be July 13.
Families and visitors are invited to family drop-in sports nights. Play outdoor volleyball or basketball on Monday nights at the Madeira Park field from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic, or just sit and enjoy watching. Younger kids can play at the park or in the playground. Let’s make this a great weekly event!
July Rambles are beginning at 8:30 a.m., to avoid the heat a bit. Thursday, July 16, the group goes to Sakinaw Outflow (meet at the end of Milne (off Lee Road), where the tarmac ends by Spence).
Harbourside Friendship summer program includes a drop-in at 10:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon. July 16 will be musical entertainment by Lynne and Reg Dickson.
The Bargain Barn thrift store is booming these days, open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a constant flow of new treasures. The recently expanded sorting room in the back is being put to very good use. If you would be interested in helping out, please contact Dorothy King at 604-883-3607. All net proceeds from the Bargain Barn go to bursaries for Pender Harbour grads and the Pender Harbour Health Centre.
