This Saturday, April 19 put on your best Easter bonnet and make your way to the Egmont Community Hall for the Easter Hat Tea. Everyone is welcome. Come and have fun with family, friends and neighbours. Kids will enjoy the annual Easter egg hunt. There will be door prizes too! For more information please call Betty at 604-883-9463.

Women's Connection will be talking sweet things this Tuesday, April 22 when their guest speaker Adrienne Fox of Truffles Cafe and Confectionary in Gibsons shares her secrets for her delicious scones and pastry. Bring a pen and paper to jot down her hot tips starting at 10 a.m. at the School of Music.

This Wednesday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at the School of Music, Ed Hill will read from his book, Busted, and tell stories about his life as an undercover cop. This free program is presented by the Pender Harbour Reading Centre Society and the Community School.

You will have your chance to share your own writings, poetry or favourite poem at Authors Corner and Storytelling Thursday, April 24 when Harbourside Friendships gets together at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. Start the morning off with coffee at 10:30 a.m. and finish off with a hearty, hot lunch served at noon for $10. Everyone is welcome. Cathy is the lady to call for more information at 604-883- 9760.

The first market at the hall will coincide with April Tools next Saturday, April 26. There will be crafts, a bake sale, plant sale and flea market items. All gardeners, when you are dividing your perennials do put some aside for the sale. Tables can be reserved by calling Muriel at 604-883-2609.

Speaking of April Tools, the day-long extravaganza is a real family affair. Youth teams build and decorate their boats before the before big day and then hit the water and race early in the afternoon before the adult teams. There will be food vendors, mini-boat building and many more activities and attractions.

Spring Fever is the theme for this year's May Day and the call is out for volunteers for the stage and tents set up and the silent auction. A super sales person(s) is needed for the 50/50 raffle to meet or beat last year's $1,400 raised by Bobbie Bennett. The Cymbalist Family also raised $1,400 at last year's event with all proceeds going towards this year's May Day. Call Marlene to volunteer at 604-883-9900.
