Halfmoon Bay

Coming to Coopers Green Hall June 29 is the touring group from Peterborough, Ont., Pat Temple and the HiLo. Russell deCarle and Steve Briggs thought our audience would appreciate and welcome them into our community. Having performed at many of Canada’s music festivals, Pat Temple has become a mainstay in the Canadian music scene. His live shows are toe tappin’ and uplifting. Tickets are at Halfmoon Bay General Store, Welcome Woods Market, and Pastimes in Sechelt.

Halfmoon Bay Fair is July 7 and 8. The theme will be Nautical; wear your best costume as prizes will be given. Highlights for the Fair on Saturday include the Kids Fishing Derby at Halfmoon Bay government wharf at 9:45 a.m. Meet at HMB Café. A BBQ sockeye salmon dinner and dance at Coopers Green Park with music by Playback. Tickets now on sale at Pastimes in Sechelt, HMB General Store and Welcome Woods Market. Dinner is at 6 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m.. A limited number of dinner only tickets will be sold at the door.

Sunday, July 8 starting at 9 a.m. is a pancake breakfast at Coopers Green Park hosted by Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary. Also starting at 9 a.m. is a 3.5 mile trophy race. Register at Connor Park.

The Fair begins with an official opening at 11 a.m. on Sunday and celebration of the 52nd Halfmoon Bay Country Fair. Costume judging is at 2 p.m.

Fantastic silent auction prizes are offered all day; bidding closes at 3 p.m. Anything you would like to donate, contact Toni Morris at [email protected].

Anyone interested in helping out with children’s games at the Fair (maybe HMB School alumni??) please call Wendy at 604-551-846.
