The Sargeants Bay Society does a terrific job in maintaining the beauty that is Sargeants Bay. Spring cleaning the park is needed every year and your help is asked for Saturday, June 9, 9 a.m. to noon. There are a number of projects to be looked after in the park so a work party is planned. If, as one of the wonderful people of HMB, you can spare a few hours on Saturday, please contact Rand Rudland at [email protected] so he can plan what can be accomplished. Please bring gloves and tools.
The next meeting of the Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is June 11 at Coopers Green at 9:45 a.m. Visitors and guests are welcome.
A special invitation is extended to all residents to a family social event, the Halfmoon Bay family dance. Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 21. This will be an event for the whole family, with dance lessons for parents and kids leading up to the event. If you are interested in being on the committee to help out and make this first dance a huge success, contact Wendy at [email protected]. Sponsored by HMB Elementary School and HMB Community Association.
Coming to Coopers Green Hall June 29 is the touring group from Peterborough, Ont., Pat Temple and the HiLo. Russell deCarle and Steve Briggs thought our audience would appreciate and welcome them into our community. Having performed at many of Canada’s music festivals, Pat Temple has become a mainstay in the Canadian music scene. His live shows are toe tappin’ and uplifting. Tickets are at Halfmoon Bay General Store, Welcome Woods Market, and Pastimes in Sechelt.
Halfmoon Bay Fair is July 8. The theme will be Nautical; wear your best costume as prizes will be given. There will be a silent auction with excellent items to bid on. Anyone wishing to contribute should contact Toni Morris at [email protected]. Vendors wishing to be included should contact Lori Wishlow at [email protected]. Anyone interested in helping out with children’s games at the Fair (maybe HMB School alumni??), please call Wendy at 604-551-846. Other volunteers who would like to play, please contact Cindy Kisser at [email protected].
To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
