Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

On Saturday, Oct. 29, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Halfmoon Bay Elementary gym, please join us for the 2nd Annual Halfmoon Bay Business and Entrepreneur Show. It’s open to the public and everyone is welcome. They have a great vendor lineup of local trades, businesses, artisans, and organizations. It is not only a great opportunity for networking but you can also do some shopping and taste testing.

The eighth annual Apple Festival was a huge success. Many thanks to the apple donors, the Flying Apple Saucers, all the stirrers and canners, the musicians and vendors, the parents and children and other humanoids who attended, creating the most amazing happy feeling. We managed to can 15 dozen jars of apple butter. With the abundance this year, you can still buy some. It will be available at Dolphin Physio and Fitness, #102 - 5711 Mermaid St. in Sechelt, or at Halfmoon Bay Elementary gym this Saturday at the Business and Entrepreneur Show.

The Boogie Brats and Beer dance was also incredible with the band Astral Motion exceeding expectation and adding many to their fan base. Well done to all the Halfmoon Bay Com-munity Association volunteers who made it a success.

Halfmoon Bay Tween Night returns on Friday, Oct. 28 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Halfmoon Bay Elementary. This is open to grades 5 to 7 students. There is a $5 drop-in fee and the Halfmoon Bay student council will have a concession. Come join the fun.

Pickleball is at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Both players and spectators are invited. All skill levels are welcome. All equipment is provided. Drop-in charge is $3 or $20 for eight nights. This is a wonderful way to get in some exercise and meet the neighbours. No experience is required. Sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association.
