Due to the Thanksgiving weekend, the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, Halfmoon Bay Branch’s monthly meeting was rescheduled for the following week, Monday Oct. 17.
Apple festival weekend, sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association, has the Annual Boogie, Brats and Beer event with live music from Astral Motion, a sensational four-piece band. Come and dance at Coopers Green Hall, on Saturday, Oct. 22. Tickets are now on sale at Halfmoon Bay General Store and Welcome Woods Market.
On Sunday Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. will be the eighth annual Apple Festival at Coopers Green Park, with traditional drumming, apple butter, fall soups, pony rides, lots of local produce, vendors, and live music. The Halfmoon Bay Community Association will hold their Annual General Meeting on Thursday Oct. 20. All members are invited to attend. There will be elections of the directors, an update on the new community hall, treasurers report, and an opportunity for input.
The Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre would like to invite businesses, entrepreneurs, crafters, artists and community groups to the second annual Business and Entrepreneur Show on Saturday, Oct. 29, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School gym and library.
Last year’s event was a huge success, which allowed the unique opportunity of networking between businesses and a shopping and information gathering opportunity for our community.
Please consider joining us to promote your goods and or services, display your wares, provide samples, put up posters, and hand out business cards. Halfmoon Bay Community Association, making events available for our social and fitness well being, have arranged for pickleball 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Both players and spectators are invited. All skill levels are welcome. All equipment is provided. Drop-in charge is $3 or $20 for eight nights. This is a wonderful way to get in some exercise and meet the neighbours. No experience is required.
