Halfmoon Bay Community Association will present the 50th annual Country Fair Dinner and Dance July 9. Come out to enjoy a salmon BBQ dinner, and dance to the live music of the ever popular Poppa Greg and the Chillin’ Dylans (blues, rock and 1960s funk). Tickets are now available at Welcome Woods Market, Halfmoon Bay General Store and Pastimes in Sechelt.
The Kids Fishing Tournament on Saturday, July 9 is being organized by Halfmoon Bay General Store with lots of work by Aileen Perrett of the Halfmoon Bay Café. This is part of the Country Fair and is a good time to invite your families to the Coast, especially if they have young children. There are lots of prizes and a hot dog lunch. Bring your own rod if you prefer; some equipment will be available. Sixty kids competed last year and they all caught at least one fish – lots of fun!
Relive the 1960s at Coopers Green on July 10. This is the theme of the 50th anniversary of Halfmoon Bay Country Fair. Get your costume ready and get the most out of this year’s Fair. Prizes for individual costumes and best 1960s family.
If you would like to contribute towards the Fair, we still need a few cakes for the cakewalk.
Donations for the silent auction are coming in. Dave and Sue Lamb have kindly donated dinner for four aboard their boat and a cruise around the Bay. Andy from Handy Husband has contributed three lots of four hours labour (get those jobs around the house fixed). Pastimes offered some wonderful in-demand toys, and Bryce at Sunshine Coast Tours an evening cruise for eight. If you would like to offer items or services, please email Toni Morris at [email protected]
